Lepisto will succeed Paul Hunter of Miami University, who will remain on the board as past president. Lepisto has been an MRII Board member since 2017. In his new role, Lepisto will apply his deep experience in the market research sector that spans many categories and countries.

Lepisto currently serves as the Manager of Research Insights and Product Strategy at U.S. Bank, one of the world’s largest banking institutions. Prior to this role, he held various market research leadership positions at dunnhumby, Ipsos and brand-side companies. Lepsito said, “We are in an exciting time for understanding customers. Never before have we had so much insight into what customers do, think and feel. I’m excited that in my new role with MRII I can help other people learn how to best tap into this insights stream and receive the training and education they need to better understand customers, consumer audiences and the world around us.”

At MRII, the Board President is responsible for leading the Board of Directors as they focus on strategies and tactics to drive the organization’s mission of fulfilling the continuing educational and training needs of people worldwide in the marketing research profession. Lepisto will work closely with MRII’s Executive Director, Ed Keller to achieve MRII’s goals and objectives.

Keller said, “Jonathan has played a critical role for MRII during his Board tenure and I am excited to work with him during 2024 to further MRII’s mission. In 2023 as President elect and chair of our Strategic Planning Committee he has crafted an exciting vision for MRII’s future that builds on our heritage and embraces the exciting changes taking place in the market research industry. With all the change that is upon us, one thing remains clear: the need for comprehensive, up-to-date educational and training resources for the industry has never been greater.”
