MRII Announces New President

Marjette Stark Elected President of Market Research Institute International (MRII)

The Board of Directors of the Market Research Institute International (MRII) has announced that Marjette Stark will serve as President of the organization for 2022. Ms. Stark has served on the MRII Board of Directors since 2015. She has had a distinguished career in market research, including founding consultancy Stark Solutions in 2010 and holding senior positions with companies such as AOL, M/A/R/C Research, and Phoenix Marketing International.

According to Ms. Stark: “MRII continues to offer the industry’s premier online training in market research, and the recent updates to its courses provide an even more robust education which students can access at their convenience. I am honored to serve the MRII and look forward to supporting the Board’s efforts to offer this knowledge platform to those interested in advancing their careers through a deeper understanding of the market research and insights profession.”

Ms. Stark succeeds Stephanie C. Harris, who will stay on the Board of Directors and move to the role of Immediate Past President. The Board also announced that Dr. Paul Hunter will succeed Ms. Stark as President of MRII in 2023. Dr. Hunter is a Professor at Miami University (of Ohio) and a Principal of Oxford Analytics, with particular expertise in fast-growing fields such as secondary research and emerging research technologies. Shelly Ray, Vice President at MMR Research Associates, will continue as Treasurer of MRII.

The Board also announced the addition of eight new Board members for 2022: Charlie Farr, Chick-fil-A; Jenn Perry, Chadwick Martin Bailey; Larni Paras, Edelman Data and Intelligence; Mario Carasco, Think Now; Rahul Jain, Microsoft; Scott Beck, Xavier University, Wendy Rosen, Cox Communications; and Dan Fleetwood, QuestionPro.

According to Dr. Stephen Kraus, Executive Director of MRII: “We are proud of the continuity among our senior leadership team, who continue to be willing to serve in a volunteer capacity, and allow the organization to benefit from their experience. At the same time, we are excited to bring in new members who reflect the diversity of our profession in terms of experience, expertise, and background. Our Board reflects the best of both worlds. We had a great year in 2021 and are excited to continue enhancing our profession in the year to come.”
