SARASOTA, FL, January 10, 2019 — The Board of the Market Research Institute International (MRII) has elected Dan Coates, president and co-founder of Ypulse, Inc., as Board President for 2019. He succeeds Jeffrey Henning, chief research officer for Researchscape International, who becomes the new Executive Director.
The Board also elected Melanie Courtright, executive vice president of global research science at Research Now SSI, as President-Elect and Marjette Stark, president of Stark Solutions, as Treasurer.
“The MRII has a 23-year track record of providing research professionals with a firm foundation in market-research principles, while adapting to changes in the industry,” said Coates. “I’m honored to have this opportunity to lead the MRII as we build out our portfolio of Principles Express on-demand courses.”
The MRII also voted to offer the Canadian Research Insights Council, a newly formed trade body, an Ex-Officio seat on the Board, adding to the already strong Canadian presence in the program.
The MRII Board elected four new members: Marion Boeri, global lead of Thought Leadership Research at Spotify; Zoe Dowling, Ph.D., senior vice president of research at FocusVision; Dan Foreman, chairman of the boards of Zappi, Bakamo.Social, and eYeka; and Zontziry Johnson, market research manager at Microsoft and owner of the MRXplorer blog and podcast.
They replace retiring Board members Bill MacElroy, chairman of Socratic Technologies; Sherri Neuwirth, principal of Neuwirth Consulting; and Julie Williams, retired product manager from MaritzCX Research. “The MRII Board is one of the most active boards I’ve ever been involved with,” said Coates, “and we’re deeply thankful for the contributions of Bill, Sherri, and Julie. We’re also appreciative to Michael Mermelstein of G2 & Associates, who just completed his two-year term as Treasurer. Without volunteers such as these, we wouldn’t be able to serve the industry.”
